Up coming interview with Richard Dugan
A walk with a witch…
(Talking points for program)
1. Going backwards to move forward. I’d like to explain my walk by
talking a bit about my personal discovery of my true life’s
path. As a small child I played with fairies that I found in my
mothers garden. I was 4-5 then but previous to that when I was
only 3 not long after my baby sister was born I learned that I
could talk to bees. One day in June 1960 my dad had taken the
rest of the kids swimming at Brandywine lake. I was left at home
with mom and the new baby. It seemed to me that I’d been
replaced as the baby of the family and couldn’t get mom to feed
me because she was busy with the new comer. Anyway we had a
beehive in the backyard and I heard the bees humming. You know
like they were eating something particularly yummy. Mmmmmmmmm!
So I followed the sound, I found the beehive and believed that I
was invited to eat. So I did! I took out the honeycomb and
munched away. Not too long after (I suppose after mom had gotten
the baby to sleep) she came out of the house frantically calling
me. I just remember the bees swarming her. Sometime after that
my dad burned the beehive.
2. Clearing out the old and no longer needed to make room for the new brighter
energies. This is a process where I’ve dealt with my past traumas
and pain to heal and forgive myself and others connected to the
trauma in order to move on to new and exciting adventures.
3. My childhood as a daughter of a pagan/Druid and a Southern Baptist. Although
neither parent was devout I was greatly influenced by both of my
grandmothers. My maternal granny was Southern Baptist and
grandma B. was a Druid. However she’d identify herself as a
Protestant if it came down to choosing one between the
Protestant and Catholics. She’d hated the nuns who’d washed her
mouth with soap for speaking the Gaelic.
4. Back to my walk as my children left the nest. I had quite a journey of
discovering what I wanted to do as well as remembering all of the stuff that had
gotten me to this point. My daughter had married a fellow who
refurbished and sold computers. So I was gifted one. I started
out writing. I had some poetry published then decided that I’d
like to get paid for my efforts and submitted an article about a
Christmas concert from my childhood to a now defunct magazine. I
was paid all of $10.00. But it made me now a professional
writer.
5. I decided to do some self hypnosis to help recall other stories that I might be
able to sell to magazines. OMG! I managed to find a book on self
hypnosis and I recorded the script and listened to it. That was that! All kinds of memories came flooding back. Not just events
like me playing with the fairies or being invited to dine with
bees but things from past lives.
6. More than anything else the self hypnosis was the catalyst to my discovering my
truest self, calling and path. That was back in 2005 and I’ve been
researching, studying and practicing the metaphysical, occult
and journey to personal enlightenment ever since.
(My outlined discussion) However on Richard Dugan’s Peabody nominated show he assures me that spirit may have a different direction and it’s best to just go with it. I agree wholeheartedly as walking with spirit is part and parcel of my life’s work..
